6 Reasons You Need a Child Sleep Expert
Many parents struggle with their child’s sleep, whether its bedtime, waking up overnight, or just nap time struggles. Know that you are not alone, and there
I should know because I have been where you are now and struggled just like you! My passion is to help parents get their sleep back because I remember how hard it was when my own son wouldn’t sleep. I remember many sleepless nights of rocking, walking, and feeding just to have my son wake up shortly after putting him down.
I remember feeling defeated, frustrated, exhausted, and at my wit’s end not knowing what else to try or buy to help him sleep more. My marriage was suffering, and my hope for my son to one day “grow out of it” was fading. When I finally found my way out of that deep, dark hole, I was determined to help other parents that were struggling as I did. You can read more about my story and passion here.
You should feel heard and understood when hiring someone to help you with your baby. Sleep professionals should be as invested in you and your baby’s success as much as you are! Here are the top six reasons why hiring a professional certified sleep consultant is the best decision you’ll ever make for you and your child!
1. There is too much information out there!
There are so many ways to get sleep advice these days, from well-meaning family members to books and websites, not to mention social media where everyone has an opinion! It’s hard to make sense of all that information and find what’s best for your child and your own parenting style. Having a trained sleep professional create a customized plan made just for you, based on the individualized information of your child’s needs and family’s lifestyle is the key to success!
2. You need educated professional support.
Deciding to make a big change for your child can be nerve-wracking, and knowing that you have support can make all the difference in seeing success with your child. Many parents struggle to commit to making real changes because of parental doubt. Those are little thoughts that creep in there like – “Am I doing the right thing?” or “Is this the right change for my baby?” or “How is this going to affect my child down the road?”
Having an educated and experienced professional guide you through your sleep journey will empower you to feel confident about your decisions with no doubts! I am passionate about helping parents every step of the way until we reach your sleep goals. I will educate and guide you through the entire process, so you feel supported with no parent guilt!
3. You need to learn healthy sleep skills that last a lifetime.
Research shows that sleep trouble can take up to 5 years to resolve themselves, and in 80% of cases, they never truly go away. Poor sleep has been linked to many medical issues including ADHD, higher risk for obesity/weight issues, poor academic performance, and more. By working with a sleep professional, you can ensure you’re creating the best sleep habits for your child and you can give your child the gift of healthy sleep skills that will last a lifetime!
4. Get your nights back!
I know you may think this one is selfish or self-serving, and maybe you feel like this is just part of being a parent, but hear me out on this one. Whether you’re struggling with bedtime, overnight wake-ups, early morning wake-ups, nap times, or maybe all of it, it is exhausting to never know when your baby is going to wake up next. It’s like always being on-call all the time. You never get to relax and be “off the clock,” so to speak, and that stress just builds up mentally and physically. Often times, it causes marital issues and family strain, not to mention if you have to work and the professional pressure to perform well is affected. So, let me loudly say it now – YOU DESERVE SLEEP TOO! Imagine being able to put your child down to sleep and getting the night off, knowing your little one is getting the precious sleep they need, and you can have your nights (and sleep) back!
5. Pack a wealth of knowledge and expertise in your back pocket!
When you work with me, you don’t just get a customized sleep plan and continuous support, but you also get years of experience dealing with all sort of unique sleep troubles and a wealth of sleep knowledge. Parents receive a sense of relief knowing that they’re not alone in dealing with sleep troubles and that they have an expert to ask any and all of their sleep questions to.
When you work with me, you will also receive sleep information for future sleep disruptive situations – like traveling, nap transitioning or dropping a nap, transitioning to a big kid bed, etc. You will know how to continue positive sleep habits for your child even after our time together is over. You can learn all about my different services and packages here.
6. Avoid frustration and disappointment.
With so much information out there, it’s tempting to pick up a book or try that thing that worked for your neighbor’s baby, but your risk of feeling frustration and disappointment is high. Your child is unique, just like your parenting style, so finding the right book or the technique that is perfect for your particular situation can be almost impossible.
Plenty of parents do the research and search for something that will work for their baby, but when you’re sleep deprived and under a lot of stress, it can be hard to think clearly and find the right solution for your family.
Many parents come to me after reading books or trying different things and end up feeling

From 2 proud and well rested parents (and one cute little boy)
Why didn’t we try this sooner?! As we speak he is sound asleep in his crib – and has been since 7.15 pm. We are so pleased to get the evenings to ourselves again, and Tinius – who has always been a very happy boy – is even more happy now. It is now obvious to us that he didn’t get enough sleep before and that our difficulties getting him to sleep in the evenings were due to the fact that he was overly tired. Now we follow your advise on bedtime routines and everything else we learned from the sleep program and are happy to say that your success rate is still 100% :-).
